62 Battery judging- Referencing latest TIM/Judging guide and 1962 AIM questions

Recently obtained a "judging correct" battery for my 62. It came with an "acid warning tag" on one of the top posts which also said "do not remove". There is no reference to such a tag in the judging manual. Should this tag be kept on the battery for judging?

I have the correct original retainer and shield (no hole) and have obtained the "spacer" pads for the corners. How are these triangular pads kept in place when installing the shield? There is no reference to any kind of adhesive in the AIM?

Since wrestling the battery and the shield, J hooks and the pads into the correct place in the tray under the RH fender is a challenge, I only want to do this ONCE..,,,, so any guidance would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure someone on this forum knows the answers....

    Thanks

i use contact cement to adhere the rubber triangles to the retainer. use it sparingly and the judges won't see the yellow snot. mike

Thanks guys! Used just a tiny dab of cement on spacer and inside corner of retainer/shield..... worked fine. Wonder what the guys in St. Louis did since AIM doesn't specify any adhesive. Guess it depends where in the assembly sequence the battery etc. were installed. Before the body drop??
        All set for the moment.
