I am looking for a correct 40083 fuel pump for my dads 65 L76 327/365 car. in turn I can not seem to locate what the judging manual calls out for in the way of the configuration. this upper pump housing showed up for sale and has the correct configuration but wrong part number stamp on the flange. I have a service pump I could use the bottom half of to rebuild and restore. can this be done?

Re: 1965 L76 fuel pump 40083 questions
I suggest you do not try to make do with that piece.
Instead, give David Sokolowski in So. CAL a call. He has many ads in each Driveline.
He almost always has a bucket full of 0083s available for you to choose from and will pick you out a good one and mail it to you.- Top

Re: 1965 L76 fuel pump 40083 questions
Keith, you must have an older version of the '65 TIM JG since the 40083 is photographed in the new 6th edition. As for getting a good core, you should follow Don's advice. There are a few good fuel pump rebuilders out there. Steve Hack rebuilt my 40083 core and it works great now.Region VII Director (serving members in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas).
