recommended way to lift engine with fuel injection intake mounted

Does any one have a recommended way to lift a fuelie engine with the aluminum fuel injection intake manifold mounted? I know there are lift plates for aluminum carb intakes, but not sure about fuelies.

If the answer is "must remove the intake" thats fine. I need to keep the engine buttoned up is the thing, since it will be a while before the restoration is done and I had the engine rebuilt, so I want to be sure the engine is stored with the intake on and taped up.

Do it the way GM did. Use lift strap/device thru/under the exhaust manifolds

On my fuelie I used the front water pump bolts and the rear exhaust manifold bolt holes. I removed the valve covers. Use an engine tilter.

Thanks Stephen, that sounds like the ticket! Patrick, is that engine going on a C2? The C1 has an engine mount between block and water pump, that seems like would preclude that approach?

Yes mine is a C2. Sorry I did not realize we were discussing a C1. Indeed they are different.

I used a spreader type bar and chain to install mine back into the car with the 4spd attached. Had good support from my wife on this. I had the engine dynode and did not want to chance removing and disturbing anything from what the rebuilder did. I also have a friend who just recently did the same type of installation on his 61 FI car. He also used the same shop I used and had his dynode too. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but I didn't think it would be pertinent at the time.
