Blower fan runs after ignition is turned off

Recently I used the AC on my '72 LT1 with the blower on high. When I turned the ignition off the blower motor continued to run for maybe 30 seconds. I don't think I have ever noticed this before. Is this suppose to happened and I just never noticed it or is something else going on?

If it is something else, does anyone have any suggestions as to what is happening?

It sure sounds as thought the high blower relay is sticking. I would try and remove and clean the points internally with a piece of sandpaper or small file. the metal housing has a few tangs that can be bent to remove cover and access the contacts to be cleaned.

I have looked for the high blower relay on the car and also on a '72 electrical diagram and I m not finding it. Do you know where it is located or does it go by another name?

My 71 AIM shows it mounted to evaporator housing out under the hood. Not sure if 72 is the same. Chip.

Jerome, Chip is correct, should be a silver colored rectangle housing.
