1972 Speedometer Cable

I want to replace the speedometer cable on my 72 with manual transmission. I looked at 2 70's today that had two piece cables with one car for sure being original. They were automatics. Is the single piece correct for the 72? Is there a difference between auto and manual? Thanks

Single piece cable for manual transmission -- two piece for automatic transmission. 1970 to 1972 is the same.

Thanks Terry. Most of my knowledge is on C2's and some on C1. I haven't had a C3 in over 25 years but could not pass up this car when I saw it.
