Without a doubt ,this past weekends Carlisle was one of the most outstanding weather weekends I have ever attended. Really enjoyable when the Temp is 75 & 50% humidity. Any way's, I was part searching for my project 67 for a 621 bell housing. My original has cracks on the bottom & I don't want to take any chances with a weld job.
The housing I have here at home has the GM Logo approx. 1" above where the tranny bolts on & the 3899621 cast over on the right.
Housing #1 that I found last weekend had the GM logo up on top right at 12 O'clock with the 621 cast again on the right.
A 2nd 621 housing I found had the GM logo cast over on the right side next to the 621 markings.
I checked all over & saw nothing mentioned in the JM, but did run into a NCRS Pal & he said he had been told by some older gents that the originals had the GM casting on the top at 12 O'Clock.
Ok, so now that I've cornered the market on 621 Bell housings, does anyone know which one indeed is the most common as far as rolling down the assembly line, or were these made in different plants with different GM logo locations ??
Since it's not in the JM, it's probably more for my own curiosity, but I want to see what you guys have observed----
Thanks,
Fred
