    Thoughts and prayers to Houston

Having lived in Houston for almost 40 years before I retired, and having been touched by the many hurricanes and floods over that time, my best wishes and prayers go out to all my fellow Texas Chapter members there. Stay dry and safe!

My employer sent 11 line crews from St Louis to Huston. AEP (American Electric Power) requested only 11 crews from us. I hope they are drawing from other areas also.

They are, about 8 crews are coming from PNM in New Mexico, and several others from the co-ops too.

The Texas Chapter members are doing okay. Unfortunately, at noon the water started rising again in the SW side around Alvin and Pearland. Cypress Creek (Katy) area was one of the hardest hit areas plus they had a tornado.

Here's a couple of linksto the Houston traffic cameras:
Get traffic updates on Houston traffic and surrounding neighborhoods with ABC13. Stay updated with real-time traffic maps and freeway trip times.

How are our NCRS members in the Houston area fairing?

Has anyone heard how NCRS members in the hurricane Harvey area are doing?

Richard, just below your thread is another entitled Thoughts and Prayers for Houston that contains a recent post by Gary Chesnut that states the following:

Please add to your prayers all of the people in Port Aransas, Aransas Pass, Rockport, and Fulton Texas. That area was where Harvey first hit land. Port Aransas had 132 mph winds for over an hour. All of those areas had severe wind and water damage. As much as 10' and more. They seem to be forgotten about now that Houston has flooding.
