Does any one know the original GM bearing used in a 1969 882 alternator. I have a 7451931 NDH bearing but I am not sure if it is correct.

Re: 1100 882 Alternator SRE Bearing number
The original 1969 slip ring end bearing was GM #7451763. It was discontinued and replaced by the GM #7451931 in July, 1972.
Addendum
By the way, the 7451763 and 7451931 are virtually identical. However, there is one VERY slight difference that I have noted from absolutely KNOWN examples of each, including a known, completely original, non-rebuilt 1969-dated SI series alternator. This involves the stampings. In circular format the stampings are generally seen as shown below:
7451763
"MADE IN USA . MNJ 471 . HYATT"
7451931
"MADE IN USA . MNJ 471 . NDH"
This is actually a level of detail that, personally, I would describe as being an extremely minor nuance
Both bearings were manufactured internally by GM. The first by the Hyatt Division and the second by the evolved name of the same division----New Departure Hyatt (NDH).In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

It is also very common to see a Torrington bearing back then. I have a friend in town that has been rebuilding generators / alternators for for about 50-years. Yup, he's that old, still working everyday, with the help of his son. He tells me they also used Torrington, and he use to buy them by the case back then. The INA current replacement bearing was not available until the mid-70's. He looked through his old cores and got this picture for me.
Joe, do you have a picture, or can you get a picture of the NDH bearing? I'll slip into the 68-69 manual.

Here's a photo of a known original GM #7451763. It's still installed in a non-rebuilt, original SI series alternator manufactured on February 11, 1969. I have a bunch of NOS examples of the 7451763 [none for sale] but it's just to difficult for me to get at them right now.
I also have many NOS GM #7451931 [none for sale]. These are the ones that I believe have "NDH" stamped rather than "Hyatt". Once again, though, too difficult to get at right now.

Gary------
One more thing I should have mentioned: it's very possible that bearings of the same GM part number might have different stampings. As in the case of the distributor caps, these things were being used by the millions. It's very possible that different tooling in use at the exact same time had different minor variations. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
