Holley 3310-2 on 1970 454 with a very mild roller cam.Carb rebuilt, put 6.5 power valve, has 72 primary jets,secondary metering block, rest of carb set up stock. Car idles rich a little black smoke. What to check for richness? Thanks Phil

Try turning your idle mixture screws all the way in. If the engine doesn't die, you have a blown power valve.
