    L-88 ZL-1 connecting Rods

Do the later open-chamber 69 L-88 and 69 ZL-1 use the same piston connecting rod?
I have found listed the familiar L-88 3969804 but also 3959197 PN listed for the ZL-1.
Another reference refers to 3959187, which might be a typo since is only one diget different
to the one referred to previously.
    Thank You

As far as I know, the 12.2:1 open chamber pistons and 7/16 boron bolt full floating rods are the same for the ZL-1 and and 2nd design L-88's. The 2nd design L-88 is an iron block ZL-1.

The part numbers were GM #3959187 and 3969804.

The GM #3959187 was used for most, if not all, 1969 with L-88 and ZL-1. Very late 1969 L-88 and ZL-1 may have used the GM #3969804.

It's really kind of a moot point as both of the above-referenced rods were virtually identical. In fact, I've never been able to find any difference between them. I'm sure there was some difference but I don't know what it was. The 3959187 was discontinued in July, 1970 and replaced by the 3969804.
