Re: 64 Corvette Ignition
March 64 FI (L84) with TI, believe the original owner ordered in fall of 63, at same time his friend order a L76 (non TI as far as I know).
My L84 came in (Mar 64) after his friends L76 (believe in Jan) for some reason. The car got held up for an unknown reason, assume such since the block was a factory regrind (yes documented) The hold up may have been for the TI option, since according to Adams, page 224, the TI was introduced on 3/19/64
My distributor is dated coded 4A6 - so I though it may had been one of the first TI distributors, however further talks with experts have documented these TI distributors back to fall of 1963.
Probably more than you wanted to know.- Top

Re: 64 Corvette Ignition
It looks like Mr. Hooper is correct.
According to the latest version of the TIM&JG:
"The Transistor Ignition (TI), option K66, was offered in mid 1964 as an option. It was introduced for production on December 27, 1963, about the time that 1964 approximately VIN 8091 was produced. "
As we all know, all 1964's only came with the small block, 327.
I hope this helps.63 Coupe- Top
