When did the 55's start seeing the bag in lieu of the jar? My car is 480 and has pump in the floor and bracket holes for the jar in the fender, ( no bracket, jar, or lid) thanks Ronnie

Re: 1955 washer reservior
explain what you mean by pump. do you have a plunger(button style) or the higher foot pedal?- Top

Re: 1955 washer reservior
does not seem correct for you to have a pedal. your car is too early unless a 3speed was installed. area you describe is also were the foot plunger is located. the washer bag and foot pedal start appearing between 1525 and 1550. washer jar and plunger will reappear later in the 55 run- Top

Re: 1955 washer reservior
There is a pair of holes in the fender for the bracket and jar nothing in the area where the bag would hang. All original fiber glass. There is a hole in the floor next to dimmer no pump, just assumed it was for pump. thanks RDR- Top

Re: 1955 washer reservior
I see the lids occasionally on ebay. I only seen one 55 washer bracket for sale in the past ten years. I am even thinking the one in the judging manual might have been fabricated because I do not recall a 1/2" hole on the mounting side of the bracket.- Top

Re: 1955 washer reservior
the hole in the floor is for the plunger style pump which is correct for you car. By foot pedal I was talking about a lever style pump which is only used with a washer bag.- Top

Re: 1955 washer reservior
I have not seen a correct photo of a 55 corvette washer jar bracket in any corvette manual and that includes the NCRS judging guide. Even the picture of the bracket in Nolan's restoration guide is incorrect. Although the photo in Nolan's guide is incorrect, the dimensions given on page 33 are correct. Only the 1/2" hole on the lower part of the vertical bracket is not shown.- Top
