I have a dent in the trim on my 64 hardtop above the drivers window. I would like to remove the trim piece and have it repaired. I was hoping someone could give me some pointers on how to remove this piece? Do I have to remove the rubeer molding that is attached to the trim piece to get to the screws? After you remove the screws how to you remove the trim from the front and rear trim pieces without damaging the pieces? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 64 hardtop repair
Patrick,
Here are a couple of pics of the molding on the RH. May give you an idea of what you are up against. Yes, the rubber will have to be removed as the screws are under the weatherstrip.

Re: 64 hardtop repair
Thanks Joe
The picture is very helpful. Is it difficult to work the ends out from the front header and rear trim pieces? I was thinking I would also remove the rear corner piece which would make removing it easier?

Re: 64 hardtop repair
Patrick,
Just remove the rear corner piece which should be easy and after taking off the weatherstrip and removing the screws the piece should pull out nicely. Usually there is a large amount of sealant under the strip so it will take some firm pulling to free it from the fiberglass shell.
Good luck,
