I've run across a repro 65/6 KO wheel that has "KMC Wheel" cast into the back side and a casting date(not an ink stamp) of "08
24 01". Can anyone ID KMC Wheel?

KMC Wheel has been around since the early 1980's as an "aftermarket" manufacturer and believe that wheel is from 2008Rick Aleshire

Loreen, I am pretty sure these were made by Western Wheel .New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.Comment

Ed, the family bought my brother a set of Western Wheel bolt-ons in the late '70s that were clearly cast "Western Wheel"; are you saying this is a later iteration of that wheel and that "KMC" is the New name of the corporate entity?
Rick, I would read that casting - IF it's a date - as August 24, 2001. Give me your reasoning, please.....Comment

typical dates in modern era are y/m/d - but could be m/d/y as you indicate - and as I indicated KMC is an aftermarket producer of many different kinds of wheels and been in business since the early 1980's - do NOT know if they are / were offshoot of Western or notRick Aleshire
