    69 Coupe Rear Interior Trim

    Hey Guys,
I noticed something odd while I was attempting to install my interior pieces tonight. My rear quarter trim pieces don't exactly follow the AIM in that they have an extra fastener hole on the top instead of just the two "hidden" ones that get covered by a rear roof trim piece.

At first I thought someone had just gone and added the extra one but if you look closely you will notice that there never was one in the proper forward "hidden" location. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this extra fastener and if it should be chrome or black? The drivers side also has the extra screw however it has the two hidden ones in their proper location instead of just the one "hidden" one which is on the passenger side.

Another question if have is should the screw that is at the bottom of this panel (item 10) be chrome or black? I assume chrome but just wanting to make sure.

    Thanks

    Greg,
I just checked the same piece on my '69 coupe (original interior trim) and I also have a screw in that location which doesn't show on the AIM sheet. The screw is chrome with a built in trim "collar" ( I don't know what the correct name for this is). The screw at the bottom is chrome.

I think (?) that this is addressed in the new edition of the JG which comes out in a month.

        Patrick,
The last draft does address this: single chromed oval head with trim.

OK. I thought so, but don't have the latest draft here at work.

Thanks guys! I didn't think this was a dealer or bubba fix but now I know.

Okay so another JG is due to be released? I need to pick up my restoration pace because I was feeling bad that the current JG was released before I had finished and now another one is coming out... Regardless, I'll be looking forward to reading it.
