    1990 Altenator Parts Number

This is a question for anyone in the C-4 knowledge College. My original alternator took it's last breath
yesterday. I removed it and replaced it with a rebuilt one. Upon very close examination I was able to
extract the following information In dot matrix form, the following numbers were observed:

    Top right: 111762
    Bottom Left: 11011127Y
    Bottom Center: 105A
    Bottom Right 12VNeg

Any help would be appreciated. If this is an original I will have it rebuilt if not it will go the way of dead alternators

Well, 1990 (except LT5) was supposed to have used alternator GM #1101264 or 1101843. Is it possible that some other part number was used? Yes, I suppose it's possible.

Joe, is it possible for you to identify, with the part number I have listed, what GM vehicle it would normally be assigned to, if not this will be my last post on this matter.

        Ed,

01101127 shows up as production on 1987 Corvette (w105 amp). As noted earlier by JL the ...264 and ...843 were production 1990.

Dave, that would fit. I looked at the date code on the unit and it indicated 11 month 17 day of 1986, shift 2 all of which
was listed in JRM for 90-91. A, the mysteries of corvettes. If you are attending Redmond, Or. Regional I will buy you
any type of drink you prefer. Thanks again for solving the code. Your one of the good guys.
