    LT-1 aluminum valve covers

What is the beat way to clean and polish between the fins on LT-1 aluminum valve covers?

    Thanks

    Hi George,
I used my Dremel Tool with those small round polishing cloth attachments on it, with Mothers Aluminum polish. They fit in the grooves perfectly. Now you know they aren't supposed to be polished to a beautiful luster, but I prefer them that way. My 73 is an L48 with orange steel valve covers originally but after I had the car judged I added the GM finned valve covers and Chrome AC lid just 'for me'. The aluminum polish works very well. I'm sure others will chime in with a different technique if you want to keep them looking original.

I have a set of LT-1 style valve covers with the push in oil cap that are painted black between the ribs. I don't know what they came on but mothers aluminum polish is a good choice for clean up.

I've used dish soap diluted with warm water worked in with Q-Tips.
