More information on SHP Valve Cover Screws

    1963 340 HP December Car.
Pictured below are both the original and the re-pop screws.
there is .030 difference in the head diameters.
(edited for math accuracy) Sometimes I wonder about me....

Another great reproduction part they should be proud of.
    Well possibly some sarcasm involved.

Also, the original screw is a PAN HEAD or BINDING HEAD screw. The reproduction is a ROUND HEAD screw.

Thanks for pointing that out. Screw nomenclature is something of an art.
Some of this stuff is so bad you might as well go to Ace Hardware!

Pan head machine screws of 1/4-20 thread size, zinc finish, 0.492" OD head, and various lengths are available from McMaster-Carr. You can buy 100 of the 1" length for about 10 bucks; 100 of the 1-1/4" length for about 13 bucks. These screws have a #3 phillips drive size which is, I think, the same as the original screws you pictured. So, for about 10-13 bucks you can have enough screws for your engine + 92 spares.

Looks like a .030" difference rather than .040", but who's counting.

Thanks, I edited the original post.
            Seems I failed basic math...
