Hey guys,
I don't want to the be "that guy" who writes a 12 page post that just goes on and on, but I feel compelled to write a post relating to my thoughts on the NCRS. Recently, i had the privilege of being asked to judge 67's at the Nationals. I flew out Tuesday and was scheduled to judge on Wednesday (Exterior). My 13 month old son was a little sick that morning, but nothing to worry about. I landed in Atlanta and my wife called and said they were going to the pediatrician. I landed in San Antonio on Tuesday evening and they were going to the Hospital.
Priorities changed. I booked a flight home for Wed afternoon. I spoke with 67 Team Leader Nick Culkowski who was as gracious as always, and said do whatever you got do. I was fortunate to have been able to judge 7 cars before my flight out. Due to weather and connecting flights i didn't get to the hospital until 3am wed night/thur am. Many tests were done to my son, including a spinal tap on the poor thing. Long story short it turned out to be a bad case of sinusitis. We were in the hospital for a few days, but all turned out well.
Now for my point of this post (and it's not technical, so if the mods delete this i understand). I can not even count how many friends and fellow members of the NCRS reached out to me in text messages, emails and phone calls to see about how my son was doing. This organization, in my opinion, is the tops of all hobbyist organizations out there. I have made some wonderful friendships since joining. The NCRS is not about engine pads, trim tags, etc....It's about the friendships we all make along the way. The outreach from many members to me about my son really showed me how lucky i am to be a small part of a great organization. A post a few years ago on this DB inquired into where the NCRS will be in years to come....I can tell you, this organization is NOT only about the wonderful cars we covet, but more importantly about the friendships we make throughout out membership. I cherish this....
Long post to make a simple point, this group of guys and gals is the BEST. Hands down. I am proud to me a member. Thanks to ALL that have reached out to me about my son. He is doing fantastic and is back to his normal ways thank God.....Thanks again to all.....
Regards
