    Flipper lift tab question

I have a May 13, 54 build date and I have the flipper moldings and the curved convertible frame arms. Planning the restoration and on page 45 of the judging manual (illustration [1-15-6] ) The notes indicate "flipper is chrome plated with lift tab painted body color. Mine are restored and fully chrome and this is the first I have seen mention that the tabs themselves are painted body color. Does anyone have a close up photo of early flipper moldings with the lift tab painted body color?

    Hi Steve,

Here's a photo of a flipper molding from a 4/20/54 build date car. The portion of the flipper that is painted is the tab that extends beyond the outside edge of the molding that curves around the rear of the interior opening. The photo shows the flipper in position when the top is up but you can see where the paint is applied.

    I hope this helps.
