Tele column, in judging manual it states. "outer bolts go down through and inner bolts oriented upward" Please review my attached picture, my outer bolts must go up because the plate has welded/secured nuts at top, has something been changed?

Re: 66 Tele mount at cluster? Correct? Bolts?
Hi Bill,
The two inside bolts are installed correctly. They go up into two weld nuts on the strap bracket that wraps about two thirds around the tele column tube. As a side note on original tubes this bracket is plug welded to the tube. Not welded to the edge on the tube and the edge of the to strap bracket. The two outside bolts are in slotted holes in the clutch/brake petal bracket. These two bolts have the heads of the bolts up and the nuts on the bottom.

Re: 66 Tele mount at cluster? Correct? Bolts?
Thanks Page,
My outer bolts have nuts welded at the top I must put the bolts in from the bottom, unless break off the welded nuts at top.
It looks factory to me, unless my brake pedal assembly was changed, or the tele changed- Top

I believe 65 & 66 are the same. Here's a pic. on my 1 owner 65 during the dis-assembly process. It confirms Page's post.

Thank you for the picture of the 65, that is how the judging manual reads for 66, I still wonder why mine is different? My car was built in dec 65, was there a running change?- Top
