    Turned back the clock today

I got a call today from a gentleman who told me he had copied my 1982 dash pad article from The Corvette Restorer but that the copy had gone bad now that he was ready to use it. He's owned his '61 for 41 years. I referred him to Vinny for the copy and to Al Knoch for a much improved dash pad. Kind of takes you back.....and you remember that June 26, 1995 was the day that MartinAir took you and a friend from LA to Brussels and on by rental car to Stockholm to look at a 35 year old plastic race car.....

It is a great thing to keep those types of memories in our minds!

      Loren,
Great article, very extensive and detailed. It's ready to go as soon as I hear from the member.

        Loren and Vinnie,
In the Fall 2016 Restorer the first part of the story about the Camoradi Corvette was republished. Is the second part going to be republished?
        I really enjoyed the article.
        Kind regards.

The 2016 reprint was of parts 1 & 2 as originally printed.

            Loren,
The last paragraph of the story refers to the search for the motor and fuel injection. Was that story ever published?
            Thanks

Loren: I bet I know the guy. He's been planning his '61 Corvette restoration for a long long time.

Tom, if it's the same guy, he's getting close - the dash/interior are the final strokes......he's gonna buy a lot better dashpad in 2017 than was available in 1982.

Re: Turned back the clock today

Peter, the search for the motor found another sedan, then the 327s entered the market and the 283+ entered a boat racing class, followed by a
stint in a pleasure boat, followed by contact with an underwater obstacle and a sinking in deeeeeeep water. The unit had been removed some time earlier (no one to work on?) and I still get periodic rumor reports from a mate who was involved in the initial quest and every once in a while hears a rumor that he can chase - it's apparently still there and not on a car. The late Bob Wallace (Muira, Countach & Camoradi Corvette mechanic) had his younger brother in the chase, also.
