    power window

any advice on how to get the power windows to go up. I have replaces all vent widow rubber and whiskers. I have replacesd actuators. I have restored motors but I bought new motors and I cannot get the windows to go completely up. they get about halfway then die. passenger side will go down nicely also but drivers won't go completely up or down. after 5 years I am starting to see the end on this air, all power coupe. new frame ( old one completely rusted out ) lacquer paint, and all systems sent to be restored - but I am getting worn out
thanks for this forum and you tube. here is the original owner of my car with r.e. Davis at Watkins glen. he was head of oil engineering at gulf monroville

      Re: power window

Joseph, 2 things I can suggest to check are: did you replaced the rear window run with reproduction liners?, if so they are too thick and could cause the binding of the windows. 2) check to make sure the window frames are properly positioned within the door front and rear window runs, if not this could be the cause of the binding. I ran into this on one of my windows when I restore my wife's 67 and had to readjust the front window vent frame to give it a little more clearance. After the adjustment, it worked great!! On the rear window run, you might find by replacing the repo liners with a thin felt material from a fabric store or the local WalMart, this could solve the problem. Hope this helps out! Al
