Ordered a speedometer drive gear from CC last Friday (6/17) and was told it was in stock and would ship out that day. Well, on Thursday afternoon (6/23) after UPS would normally have made their daily run, still no delivery from CC. I called and spoke to a nice polite lady about if the part had shipped. Was put on a brief hold and then was informed it would go out this past Friday (6/24). I nicely asked her if she would relay the following info to the appropriate people and told her the following was not directed at her. I went on to tell her that CC had to have the worst shipping department in the industry and was never dependable or reliable. I also told her that most all my purchases went to other businesses due to CC's incompetence in the shipping dept. Others ship out the same day (if you meet their time cutoffs). She told me it most likely was a "computer glitch" that caused the order to get misplaced. I guess I must be glitched 90% of the times with my orders from CC. Don't seem to have this "computer glitch" with other companies. Zip, Volunteer Vette, LICS, C.A. do as they say in my experiences with them. The nice lady informed me that the system was being revamped and should get more reliable! We or you may see if and when this will ever happen!! My advise would be "If you need your parts on time, don't depend on CC, buy elsewhere". So, as Forrest Gump would say "that's all I got to say about that" I've vented and I'm out of here. Have a nice drive with your vette today as I'll be waiting on my part from CC!
Will CC's shipping ever get dependable?

I've never had a problem with Corvette Central's shipping either. Wonder what the problem is?- Top

Re: Will CC's shipping ever get dependable?
The orders I've placed with CC usually result in 1/2 the items backordered. On my recent order, placed 2 months ago, there are still items backordered. Glad I'm not in a hurry for them. I prefer dealing with LICS or Zip because they let you know prior to placing the order that the parts are in stock.- Top

Re: Will CC's shipping ever get dependable?
Update on shipment. I did receive the part on Tuesday of this week (11 days after being told it would ship that day, which was 2 weeks ago from today). I always ask wherever I order the parts from if they are in stock and if they will ship that day or the next. CC is the last resort--used only if no one else has it in stock. Roger, your fender may have been shipped directly from the manufacturer, so that could be the reason for the earlier than expected delivery.- Top

I get a bunch of back-ordered items from CC as a routine order of business...
I deal with LICS and Zip mostly now.
Zip's web site indicates if a part is in stock or not at the time you pull its info up...- Top

Re: Will CC's shipping ever get dependable?
Have never had a problem with CC and have ordered from them for last 40 years plus. Jerry is a great guy and has done the Corvette community a great service for years.
Can remember when they started and has passed the legacy to his son.
Look forward to seeing them both again and dealing with them for years to come.
And I have ordered thousands of parts from CC with no problems.

Re: Will CC's shipping ever get dependable?
Backorders are not a problem if you don't have a critical, close-in deadline.
The fact that it happens doesn't mean its evil...but if someone else has the part in stock ??!?!!
I've always (eventually) gotten my CC part(s); so perhaps the issue is "timeliness", not, dependability...- Top
