Would someone help me with the proper distance between the two tops on the car? Are they to touch one another or be a certain distance between one another? In addition, for judging purpose, should the rear of the panel be flush with the back of the car top, or is their a variance that will pass? Thanks in advance!

The answer to your question is in the 1969 AIM. I am on the road and have no access to my AIMs, but the body gaps (including the removable hard tops) are spelled out in the body section of the 1969 AIM. I know we put a general sampling of them in the 1970-72 TIM&JG, but I can't recall if those general dimensions made it into the 1968-69 manual. In any case the specific answer does reside in your copy of the 1969 AIM.Terry- Top

Re: 69 corvette T Top specifications
The gap on my low mileage never hit 70 that I have owned since 1972 is about 5/16".- Top
