1967 Front Grille Finish

The judging manual calls for "The front, or leading edge of the grille is bright chrome plated." It appears the entire grille was initially chrome plated, then painted a dull light gray with the surround and vertical bars either buffed out or taped off prior to painting. My question is are the front of the horizontal bars also exposed chrome? Anyone have a photo they can post?
