I am attempting to correct carburetor fasteners on my 1971 LT1. I had black flat washers with a natural finish nut. I am removing the flat washers and installing natural finish flanged nuts as indicated in Fig. M 5.23 in the 5th Edition JM. This photo does not say if it is 70, 71, or 72 from what I can tell. The 4th Edition JM indicated that nuts/flat washers should be used on 71-72s. Archived discussions that I've read seem to yield some controversy on this. I'm going with the natural finish flanged nuts. Any opinions ... am I on the right track here?
