    White strip caulk

Where can I obtain white strip caulk for fastening the vapor barrier to the inside of a 67 door? I have tried hardware stores, big box stores, a body shop, glass companies and ebay.

    Thank you,

    Randy

Your local auto parts store should have it. Ask for "dum-dum".

3M offers a strip caulk, but it is dark gray. I guess you could probably paint it white. They also offer a white tube caulk that is brushable, but it ain't in strips.

Here is the link. Either one will probably do you.

Plumbers Putty is the correct color but you'll have to roll it into strips yourself. Total cost - a couple of bucks.

          Jim:

Good advice. I have always used the 3M strip caulk for the past 50 years and have been happy with it...........regardless of it's color. If I remember correctly MANY years ago it was a much lighter shade of gray. It is good stuff.

          FWIW.

3M did make a white strip chalk but I do not think it is available anymore. Norton does make the color you need it is part # 82761.

I use Mortite caulking cord light grey in color, I thought Lowes carried it.

I bought some in a roll with the paper covering from an RV and trailer house supply co. It's white about 1" wide. It looks exactly like the original sealing putty. You might look there.

Don't know if they still make it , but it is worth a call to your friendly hardware store !

Try E-Bay and not AMAZON. You will find the caulk there.
