1963 ac cars

A good friend and Chapter member just bought a very nice original 63 split coupe with C60
We know they built 278 AC cars but neither one of us ever remembers any 63 AC convertibles
Does anyone have a idea of the brake down of the number of coupes and convertibles ?

The split that has been accepted is 228 coupes and 50 verts.

Harry owns one, and is an expert on 63 and 64 AC cars.

Curious where that 228/50 number came from for 63 air corvettes???

Jim, thanks but expert on 63's is a stretch.

Anyway, I have not seen the paperwork but the numbers came from GM records. I know of 4 63 A/C verts. One in Arkansas, Mass, Florida and GA. I've seen two in person and two via pictures.

Noland's book says 52 convert, 228 coupes for 1963. It was printed in 1986.

Noland & Black Book etc. was/is not always 100% accurate! GM Production records show numbers different.

Harry, I'm going to go to look at a 63 AC car, what are the hardest AC details to fake? Based on the price, I'd be surprised if this car wasn't fake, but it'd be a nice surprise if it isn't (if you don't want to put them here, please email them to me at michaelagarver@gmail.com).
