OEM pump to carb fuel lines

Im converting from the butchered Holly electric pump set-up the previous owner installed to the OEM pump and return line set up. I need the pump, the push rod, the plate the gaskets, bolts and the fuel line set up.
Question. In the picture do you see the proper mounting hole in the Ebrock Performer RPM intake to mount the OEM fuel filter? Does the filter bracket bolt to the intake? Has to I don't see any holes in the OEM heads.
Can someone snap a pic of their 68, 327 stock set up? The AIM drawing is much too vague.

The stock fuel line and filter does not attach to the manifold. It is supported at one point by the AIR pump bracket (which is partially attached to the manifold). In your case, the pump bracket has been removed. In that case, you won't be able to properly use the stock fuel line and filter set-up. If you were to use it, it will be just "hanging out there" with no support between the pump and the carburetor.

Did all '68 small blocks had an AIR system? (I don't know; just asking.)

Here are a couple photos of '68 small blocks (300hp and 350hp) which Google found. Neither have a smog pump. And in both, it looks like the fuel filter is only supported by the lines. Are these typical or modified (WRT fuel line and smog)?

What if ncrs.org maintained a gallery with detailed photos of Bowtie cars, organized by year? Wouldn't you find this of value during restorations?

ALL 1968 Corvettes were equipped with AIR. No exceptions. Of course, many have been removed over the years and the ones you pictured are examples of those. In the original configuration, the filter had a circular bracket/clamp around it and this was affixed to the AIR pump bracket. The configuration seen in the photos is the "hanging out there" that I mentioned previously. You will also note in the first photo that the exhaust manifold has the AIR fittings plugged. More evidence that this engine was originally equipped with AIR.

Yes, that's pretty much what it should look like. However, this car has a later GF-432 filter which is shorter than the original OR it's got some other filter which has been modified to add the fuel return nipple. In fact, the fuel return looks not right to me.

AIR pump is a correct 1968 pump.

Other than not being original it's no big deal. All 65 big block cars left the factory with a filter "hanging out there with no support".

This looks like it's an original configuration. The hose clamps on the fuel return line should be dyed red. These might have been red but I don't see the slightest vestige of it now. Vaguely, it looks to me like the hose might be "fatter" than the original. That could be why someone used different (and larger) hose clamps.

By the way, smog pump is correct for 1968. Only all 1968 and 1969 L-88/ZL-1 used this configuration pump.

All, many thanks for the information. I did not realize that all 68 327s came with AIR. I proficient with metal fabrication. I may go the route of fab-ing a nice looking support for the fuel filter clamp from SS316 as a small step towards getting things back to stock. Or I may try to source a quieter electric pump. The pictures are worth 1K of words.
