    Interior color matches

These are two original, undyed and unmodified right hand dash panels. Both are from 1971's.
Check out the color differences between the map pocket and the rest of the panel. The red is a bit tougher to see the difference. The saddle is easier. From the original manufacturers the colors had variations--they didn't perfectly match.

About a decade ago, as I sat in the driver's seat of my 1970, I noticed that the upper dash, passenger door, and right hand dash panel all were different shades of blue. I couldn't decide if they had always been that way, if they aged differently or if after all my years of judging (not often interiors) I was getting pickier. I decided to put off pondering that question any further. Life is far too short to dwell on those kinds of mysteries.

The bad news is that every time since then when I get in the car, I note that difference and I go through those mental gymnastics all over again. It is like the curse of the albatross.

The good news is that you don't get in that car very often?

I would agree with Mike, that there can be some significant color differences in interior panels. As such, I am a lot more forgiving with reproduction parts that "don't match", because I don't think they did on Day 1.

P.S. Mike, you can't Bowtie the cars if you keep removing the interiors.
