    Really? Well, it's a Delco 34PGHR, GM #88866025. This is a Delco Gold series, high reserve, 42 month free replacement battery. As far as I can tell, this is the top-of-the-line Delco battery in a group 34 (or, any group for that matter). Delco has very recently come out with a group 34 AGM battery but it's not a Gold series battery, has slightly less cold cranking amps (740 versus 750), significantly less reserve capacity (115 minutes versus 155 minutes) and only carries a 36 month warranty.

    It's a lead acid type battery and the label says it's made in Korea.

        Joe ur killing me, that LIC on a battery I-D-E-T-I-C-A-L to yours pictured, on the other thread and was put on that battery at least 10-15 years before LIC started business.

        the point is that the 'stated' battery dating model does not account for a LIC, nor F5N.

        now for the tricky, the cells on these two are longer, the DC-12's are shorter, I'll go find the other thread and try to attach a pic of one of the DC12's I have, that has an even different form of date coding...

        So if Restoration Battery was the bible of dating, well that web site is looooong gone.

        Would be nice to have this documented somewhere that is easy to find 10 years later...

          Ahhhh, have you ever tried the WayBack Machine (a real website)?
          Here's a PDF and link from Restoration Batteries defunct date coding page... highlighting a 1966 Corvette example.

            Re: Delco battery plant codes

            Hi Jack, long time thanks for sharing this doc, one question though, there must be some other person in the Delco GM world that knows what the LIC means, its not anything else for sure.
            L=month=Dec?
            I-1 as per above = Muncie Indiana
            C= year?

            or is it the other way around, Year-Plant-Month?

            then the same battery also seen with F5N date code.

            F=?
            5-65 75 85 95.... could be any of those and not likely the first (65) have to look at the box date on the bottom
            N=?

            L C F N plants that don't exist or common knowledge of dating of the batteries needs work.

            all this on the battery, noting mentioned on the post dating, and those date stamps exist
