1970 Underbody seat and seat belt mounting attachment's.

Trying to find the correct final finish for part # 3932814 Plate-Seat MTG REAR ANCHOR and #3977715 Plate ASM-INNER SEAT BELT MTG. These are located on page K49 of the assembly manual and are listed as part #'s 6 and 7. Were these just a natural finish, zinc plated or painted black ? Thank you in advance.

    Stephen
The page number you cite only applies to AIM copies produced by the same supplier as your copy. The universal page numerating system that Chevrolet originally applied has a UPC number and a Sheet number (or number and letter). This universal page number is generally in a box at the lower center of the page. The copies of the 1970 AIM that I have (note there is more than one copy; one having more or less pages than another) do not have the kind of page numbers you cite, so I am at a loss to provide you any information.

Thanks Steve. I will look at my AIMs when I get home and see if I can remember what is on the car.

Both plates have a gray phosphate finish.

3932814 Plate-Seat MTG REAR ANCHOR I agree with Joe: gray phosphate
#3977715 Plate ASM-INNER SEAT BELT MTG I am not so sure on this one. Silver (clear) zinc sticks in my mind, but I will check farther if you can have some patience.

I think the seat anchor anchor plates are a gray or black phosphate. The seat belt anchor plate is either Zinc or cadmium plated.

Yes, I blew it on this one. Although I should have easily known better, I was going by the 1969 configuration. However, the 1969 and 1970 brackets were completely different. The 1969 bracket is gray phosphate but the 1970 bracket appears to be zinc plated. The seat anchor plates were the same for both years.
