Was the Delco Remy Patent 2769047 R ever used as an original cap on a Corvette from the factory.

I believe it was. However, only for 1969-74 Corvettes.

My research tells me that the Delco Remy cap # 2769047 without a "R" came on 1968 cars and some 1969.

I have no doubt that original 1968 caps did not have the "R". However, I believe that all 1969's had it. But, I suppose it's possible that there was some non-R carryover into early 1969. Stuff like that can easily happen.

Joe, I thought the caps with the pat. no was started in 73 for production cars.69-though 72 has the R and before that there was just pat. pending.
