    Cut off for Judging Years

I am asking this question for a friend that is not an NCRS member as of yet but is looking to join. What is the cut-off for judging (newest model year). Does anyone know. He has a 2001 and was wondering if it is still too new to be judged.
    Regards!

Hello and welcome to the club. First, if your friend owns a vette he should join up.
As of now, 1999 is the newest car eligible for flight judging.

Anything newer would only make it 17 years old at best. How may guys are restoring a 2000 or newer car. I would think that the newer stuff would be mostly a "street rod" type with performance modifications. Maybe the newer classes will be seen as better suited to these cars. Just a thought.

Dang I must be getting old. I remember when the C-2 owners were the new kids on the block.

Should be able to have the 2001 judged in the fall of 2018.

What is a C-2? I remember when the "mid-year" owners were the newbies. Don H.

That "c" stuff is for people that don't know there are only 3 build styles, solid axle, mid year, and late model. everything else is just the "newer stuff".

For the most part, C5 was the code name that the Corvette design team used while secretly working on the 1997 Corvette. As it leaked out, the name stuck and people started using it. And, they then applied retroactively to the "other generations". If it was used before that, I don't recall it.

Yes, and it was a big deal when they finally let those "new cars in."
