    70 Upper Control Arms Shims

I removed the above four types of upper control arm shims from my 70. Do these look like original shims? I realize they need to be zinc plated. I have not been able to find pictures of original shims. All of the shims I find for sale by the vendors look like the top right one regardless of thickness. The two top shims are 1/8 inch thick. The bottom shims are 1/16 and 1/32 inch thick.

    Thanks,
    Allen

The top right shim in your photo is the only original configuration shim of the 4 you picture. The others must be alignment shop replacements.

There is a photo of these shims in the latest edition of the 70-72 Judging Guide. Also the shims are natural finish and not plated. If you do not own the new judging guide I recommend you order one.

Thanks for the responses. I had been unsuccessfully looking for the shims in the Suspension Components section. I found them this morning on page 219 in the Frame and Undercarriage section.

Thanks Paul for pointing out they were there in the Judging Guide.

          Allen,
Just for your future reference (and for other members also) the philosophy is: The suspension consists of the parts that move as the vehicle traverses bumps in the road. The chassis consists of those parts that do not move under those conditions. We flipped a coin for the rear spring.
