Decoding ECL codes from Noland Adam's book

I have a copy of Noland Adam's C2 restoration book and on page 440 under "Supplementary Data 1967" is Table 1 listing ECL codes for coupes and convertibles.

How do I decode the ECL's for my '67 coupe? The Table doesn't make much sense to me, other than to list what ECL's go with which options.

My car has an AO Smith body, built in April 1967.

For example, the window sticker I got with the car says "2C60AH" next to 4 SEASON AIR CONDITIONING. So what does "AH" mean? How do I use Table 1 in Adam's book to verify what options this was combined with?

    Thanks for your help.

    Alexander,
In order to understand what the ECL codes mean, you need to go to the main text of Noland's book...in your case the 1967 section. For this particular example, on page 405 of the book, you will find the area discussing the number of cars with C60 (air conditioning) and how those cars were equipped based on ECL codes. The AH in your instance, means that your C60 car came from the factory as a coupe with the base engine and automatic transmission. Decoding the rest of your options is accomplished in the same fashion. Hope this helps.

Also keep in mind that if it has a STD(Black) vinyl interior, it gets even more confusing.

        Hi Leif, and Rich,

Thanks for your tips on decoding ECL's. Now it makes sense - to look in the relevant year section of Noland's book (e.g. 1967) under each option where the relevant ECLS's are listed.

Learning new stuff all the time!

        Thanks again,
