    Plating MB Door Jamb Switches

I've seen these for sale re-plated. I have two I'd like to plate but am wondering: The plunger pin must be electrically isolated from the wiring connection barrel by something and I'm guessing nylon or some such.

What is the plating procedure that will not melt/damage the insulator?

I doubt the plating solutions would affect the nylon insulation; the spring is an entirely different matter. I doubt the spring would last very long, if at all, after plating.

Thanks...I'll take that approach. FYI, they came out of a 66 Charger. Bought the pair on ebay for $15 delivered.

The metal components of these switches were originally plated as separate pieces before the switch was assembled. That's the only reliable way to do it. Of course, it's not practical to do this after the switch is assembled. It may very well be that folks do plate them as an assembly and sell them. However, my guess would be that the such switches will not operate properly or operate properly for very long.
