1967 Corvette Seat Restoration

Hi Everyone...looking for a restorer of 1967 (C2) seats in the central New Jersey area. My seats are in fairly good condition with working glides and with good leather seat covers.

Any suggestions for a vendor who can:

• Remove seat covers and foam
• Remove seat hardware (latching, bolts and screws)
• Clean and paint in black powder coat seat frames
• Add new latching mechanism for both seats
• Add new side chromes for both seats (optional)
• Add hardware for both seats as needed
• Install new foam using the same covers
• Reinstall existing seat leather covers.

Any suggestions for a quality individual or vendor who can handle this work, please pass along the information.

Not able to help with someone to do that off the top of my head. Have you tried contacting the vendors like Legendary for a recommendation? I've done that several times before. Since they sell directly to many of these guys they often know who is doing this work and where they are located. Just a thought.

To be correct seat frames should be painted black not powder coated. There is an obvious difference.

Corvette America restores seats in-house at their facility in PA. I had them do my '67 and '72 seats and they did a great job.

If your going to Carlisle you can arrange to drop them off at the event and they will ship them back. You can save some $$$ by taking them apart and discarding the parts that are being replaced. Just need to call them and make the arrangements and to obtain pricing.

Another vote for Jerry @ Master's. He did the interior in a friend's '67 435 convertible (blue + white). We were impressed with his craftsmanship and attention to detail. I think he's owned his upholstery shop for 50 years? He also did the interior in another friend's 1970 Baldwin Motion Phase III Chevelle and 1971 Baldwin Motion Phase III GT Corvette. Incredible work...
