Trying to put an order in with Paragon for the spark plug heat shields. Can't seem to find them. I see them on other sites but they say that they are "replacement". Are the paragon ones any closer? Thanks!!

They are not. GM makes them, and everyone resells those. They aren't even close to correct, but if you have an old original one for a pattern, you can modify the GM ones to get them reasonably close in appearance.- Top

Tom------
I don't recollect that 1968-72 Corvettes with big blocks originally used spark plug shields. My recollection is that 1965-67 used the shields which were cylindrical. 1973-74 used a different shield which was "scoop" shaped. The latter were originally GM #336716 but were discontinued and replaced years ago by GM #465840 which remain available from GM. These can be used on 1968-72 but I don't think that any were originally used.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: '72 LS5 spark plug heat shield source?
JG indicates that late 71 model year and 72 used them. My October 1971 built LS5 has them from the factory. Tom, I have 8 of GM replacements and an extra original for a pattern to copy. Send me an email through this venue and we can connect on them.- Top

try these
they are for a BB Chevelle but are damn near identical to the ones I had on my 72 454 car.
I used two of these as replacements for a couple that were messed up on my old car.
