I know that the embossed areas of the horn button are supposed to be black for these years according to the JG. BUT - is that a flat black or a gloss black?? Same question for the wheel cover ornaments..

I thought that was going to be easy to answer until I looked at mine under a bright light. It's not gloss but I can't say it's flat either. It's a semi gloss but that could also be flat black that has been waxed over the years. If some one has a NOS one it a box we would know for sure.

Thanks Tom. I don't know if it makes any difference really. I'm painting these items after they came back from chroming and thought I'd use the correct sheen. Going with flat black for now. I can always repaint in the future if I need to.Keith MacRae
