Jacks dated with only a 1, no month

In the last two weeks I've run across two indisputably original 1971 jacks that have no month designation. 1 from a late January car, another from a mid March car: the one certainly has to be an early January one. Has anyone else encountered these? Any theory about why? Change from zero and month designation to one and month designation got screwed up?

Production of any part is not perfect. Sometimes I think our hobby group tends to forget that. Anyone that has ever worked in manufacturing understands that "LIFE HAPPENS" Send it out the door !!!!!!!!!!!!

Jimmy, working as summer help on the line at Dana Corp, I learned a lot about manufacturing at the most basic level. And not much of it good!
