    Interesting Neighbor

On retiring I moved back home after 40+ years to a rural road in central North Carolina. After living here again for about 10 years I just this week met a guy a half mile down the road who has cars to the point I feel insignificant. Forgive me if I don't get all the specs just right but I'm in the ball park:

    68 Camero 396-375 original ower...about 10K miles
Late sixties 396-350 Chevelle low miles
69 Nikki Chevrolet Nova conversion 427-425
    55 Chevy 2-door post 350-Supercharged
71 Vega Wagon 150 mph in the quarter - currently racing

and others but here is the interesting car:

61 Corvette 283-2X4 Factory Racer, one on nineteen he thinks, factory roll bar, factory 4 point seat belts, factory traction bars; maroon with white coves, black and maroon interior, both tops; very low miles.

I was blown away by what he told me....he started life as a body shop guy in eastern Iowa and has agreed to help me fix a scratch I made in my paint....after talking to him awhile I decided I was blessed to have a guy with his skills so close.

Would he be in his early '70's with first name Larry or Jerry ? If so we may be related !

James - FYI - when I clicked on the link you listed in your post my virus program (McAfee LiveSafe) prevented my browser from going there and it displayed a huge red warning sign on my screen that stated that the site was not safe. Don't know if your website / link is infected or my McAfee just doesn't like Corvette Race Cars.

My bet is you got a false positive; I'm an IT security consultant have more protections in place than I care to list (and I won't).
Site came up clean and only has one tracker "Google Analytics" which is very common...

Very nice, informative web site too...

              Just to close this out.

              1. Carl...he's not your relative
              2. Another guy contacted me and wanted to speak with my neighbor. The neighbor is going to call him and Jim Gessner.
              3. Gessner's web opened for me perfectly.
              4. It was suggested the car might not be a factory racer but a test mule; interesting thought. I spoke with the neighbor again and found I had it wrong. It has a 327 that was there when he got the car in 69 or70. It would be a truly amazing car if it were a test mule for the 327. Will likely never know.
              5. Th roll bar, seat belts and traction bars have GM part numbers....likely not fake.
