On retiring I moved back home after 40+ years to a rural road in central North Carolina. After living here again for about 10 years I just this week met a guy a half mile down the road who has cars to the point I feel insignificant. Forgive me if I don't get all the specs just right but I'm in the ball park:
68 Camero 396-375 original ower...about 10K miles
Late sixties 396-350 Chevelle low miles
69 Nikki Chevrolet Nova conversion 427-425
55 Chevy 2-door post 350-Supercharged
71 Vega Wagon 150 mph in the quarter - currently racing
and others but here is the interesting car:
61 Corvette 283-2X4 Factory Racer, one on nineteen he thinks, factory roll bar, factory 4 point seat belts, factory traction bars; maroon with white coves, black and maroon interior, both tops; very low miles.
I was blown away by what he told me....he started life as a body shop guy in eastern Iowa and has agreed to help me fix a scratch I made in my paint....after talking to him awhile I decided I was blessed to have a guy with his skills so close.
