Do these have ports for connecting vent tubes?

When I left my store a few months ago, yes, both 75 and 78 batteries had vent ports on top. That is why the handle was removed from the 78's last year I found out. Check your local AZ. Assuming their stock is all current, both should have top vents.

JOhnson controls is in China now! I used to purchase batteries for emergency lite systems and all the batteries were Chinese made and the price went up as soon as Johnson controls went to China! What gets me is the five dollars they give you for a core return!

          Hi Tom,

Thanks for the feedback. As it's been a long time since I've purchased a battery for this car, I wanted to hear some user experiences on currently available batteries. Yes, I'll keep you posted.
          Jim

Johnson branching to China doesn't surprise me, everybody is. I looked at parts boxes all the time. People would want Timken or Moog bearings. Yeah? Made In USA? Look again! Timken are made all over the globe. Moog bearings, China. It's a shame not much is made here any more. The $5.00 for a battery is for a junker brought in. We give a $5.00 store merchandise card for those. If it was a core for a battery purchased, it is a core at $12.00 last I knew.

I shouldn't have read this post, my battery in my 1982 Collector Edition just bit the dust! I have to use a Delco for judging, so it's a 75 7YR for me again. Can't get one until Tuesday, everybody selling Delco is closed today. No going out today.
