Are GM Part Numbers Unique to Specific Year Corvettes?

I am researching a screw Part Number 9418857 identified in the 1979 Corvette AIM as used to attach the side of the urethane D80 rear extension panel (rear spoiler).

Researching the number I found the same part number used for a 1963-1967 Headlight Motor Bracket:

1963-1967 Corvette Headlight Motor to Bracket Screw and Washer.
    Corvette Central #: 442014
    Original GM #: 9418857
    Car years: 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967

Is this the same and correct screw #9418857 used on the 1979 as was used on the 1963-1967 also identified as #9418857?

The part number GM #9418857 falls into the category of a "standard part". These are parts which may be used across the entire GM car and truck lines and for many years. Some were even in use for 50 years. So, as far as "standard parts" go, it's very possible for some to have been used on a 1963-67 Corvette and continuing right through the end of C3 PRODUCTION. Things like manufacturer's headmarkings are not part of the specifications for a standard part and may vary as manufacturers change over time or as there may be multiple manufacturers even during a given model year. This is especially true for "standard parts" which have very wide application and usage.

Other than "standard parts", some GM part numbers could be specific to a certain model year or range of model years. However, sometimes parts that as far as PRODUCTION goes are unique to a certain model year or range of model years, those same parts may be used in SERVICE for earlier model years.
