    Rivet Setting Tool - Suggestions?

    Yesterday I found this tool at a Antique Center in Mt Dora Florida. It appears to be for tubular rivets. I'm quite sure I can find a use for it so I had to buy it. It has a removable foot, but it only came with one. There are no manufacturers marking anywhere. Please tell me what you think it would work on. For starters, I'm thinking...

    C2 Exhaust Pipe Hanger Rivets

    it cost $10.

      I think what you have there is a chain splitter. I use a tool identical to that, only smaller, to pop out links on #35 chain. Think drive chain for go carts, motor cycles, and lawn mowers. Looks to be for a larger, heavier duty chain though. Chip.

              Yes that sure looks like what it is, thanks. After researching more, it says it is also used to set the rivets of the chain. Maybe I can re-purpose it for other rivets.

                  Well Rich,

                  The good news is you saved $13.10 plus yours is an antique and heavy duty. Should be good for pressing out old rivets and miscellaneous frame parts..
