    1963 Key Removal Help

    My 1963 key can be removed from both door and the ignitionlock cylinders in any position.Ibelieve that the correct operation is for the key to only be able to be removedin the LOCK and ON position in the ignition switch and the vertical position inthe door locks.I would appreciate helpwith determining what the mechanism is that has failed and more importantly howcan it be repaired?

    Key:
    Door Locks:
    Ignition key cylinder:
    Ignition switch:
    I would prefer to repair and use the original lock sets butin this case correct function trumps originality with the following concerns;

    I have been unable to determine if a replacementignition switch would operate correctly with my existing ignition cylinder or areproduction cylinder.

    My suggestion would be to obtain an original 63 ignition switch and send it to someone like Jester that knows what they are doing. He will key the switch to your keys and you will be operating like new.
    They advertise in the Driveline.
