Muncie 4 speed gears and parts for 70

What is the best place to purchase 4 speed gears and parts? I've heard the gears manufacturered overseas are not as good.

    Thanks in advance.

Larry Fischer at D&L Transmissions is the best place to purchase 4 speed transmission parts.

However, as far as the current source for Muncie gears, I don't think there is a USA manufacturing source. In fact, I don't think there has been in many years. As far as I know, all current Muncie gears are manufactured by Massiero S.A., an Italian company. Massiero S.A. is one of the largest manufacturers of gears in the world, if not the largest. Among other things, they manufacture gears used in jet engines.

I don't know what the Massiero gears are like as I've never used them. However, other than NOS, they're the "only game in town" I know of. Be thankful. If they had not "stepped up to the plate", I suspect there would be no gears available for Muncies.

The are also Chinese gears out there if I am not mistaken. I built a 69 M22 a few years ago for my buddy and he wanted a new set of what I call super close ratios. He bought the gears and they were a mix of Italian and Chinese. They all went together fine except for the Chinese reverse idler. That caused a bind in the action, I removed it and put the original back in and that solved the problem and the original was still good.
