Looking for a source for the original style Torrington bearing BH-2212. Torrington was bought out by Timken who was bought out by Koyo. The original BH-2212 was a roller type bearing with 32 roller bearings and no cage. These are used in the 1963-79 Corvette differentials for the 2 output stub axels. Most bearings today seem to have 22 roller bearings with a cage with the same BH-2212 bearing number. Some show up on the internet but not sure which style they are and others say the item is in stock. When you put them in "the cart", the shipping is 4 to 6 weeks.

Are you saying that Koyo acquired the Timken Company in total or are you saying they bought the old Torrington bearing line from Timken? I was not aware that the Timken Company had been acquired by Koyo although, I suppose, it's possible.
In any event, Koyo makes excellent bearings, some of the best in the world. My guess is that their 22 roller bearings will function as well or better than the original 32 roller bearings. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1963-79 Differential Torrington BH-2212 Bearings
Hi Joe.
I was wrong on the Timken Company. They are still US Company. The Torrington Bearing Co. became a subsidiary of Ingersoll-Rand in the late 1960's then merger with Fafnir Bearing Co. Timken purchased Torrington in 2003. The 32 roller style bearings (BH-2212) are now made by Koyo.- Top

Re: 1963-79 Differential Torrington BH-2212 Bearings
Koyo took over the BH2212 line about 5-7 years ago? Timken supplied that line as Page mentioned. Fafnir were good bearings and what Bridgeport used in their mills for years.
Page I assume you know but just in case, there is a radius end on those bearings, that goes inward. I set those with a drop of Loctite as well. I found on the diff's I serviced from drag vettes those bearings would walk inward, the Loctite stopped that from happening.- Top
