Question on shock stickers for 69 std suspect

    Guys,

i just recently ordered the new edition of the TIMJG for 68-69 and noticed that the broadcast codes for the std shocks for 69 listed in the old edition are VR/VS but in the new edition they are listed as EK/EM. I went through a lot of hassle to get those VR/VS stickers and now it turns out they're wrong?!?! Not to mention that the front shocks have been installed and will be a PITA to swap them out. Can anyone confirm for me that it is the old manual that is wrong and not the new one before I change the stickers? And are there any other errors in the old manual I should know about since my chassis resto has been done entirely based on that guide??? Thanks,

    Mike

The 68-69 Manual is currently undergoing revision, and Chassis is the last section we are doing.
So, by late this year you will have an all-new version to use.

From what I've seen/read/edited so far, there are plenty of changes and additions. 1968s, especially early ones, are extremely difficult to find, and the more we find the more changes we make. Base motor 1969s have also been rare birds.

Thanks Patrick. At this time is there a consensus as to what stickers are correct for a Sept 69 350/350? I can't wait until the new manual is done and will have to go with the current best guess available.

VR/VS is the typical identification tag on stock suspension shocks for a 1969.

And some people choose to install these, while some go with what the manual currently says, i.e. EK/EM.
          Thankfully both are readily available.

OK that's good news. I'll stick with the VR/VS I already have on my shocks then. Thanks.

Paul, do you have a revised list of shock decal numbers?

Gary send you the list I have others need to input. This is from a retired Delco engineer in the suspension division from the early 60's till the late 80's.
